The cord is made from specially treated paper, firmly twisted into a 3-ply strand. There are two distinct types: One is called "Lanced Danish Cord",which is more rope-like ;that is, you can plainly see the three strands of of twisted material. The other type is "Unlanced Danish Cord". The three strands in this type are not as noticable, creating a smoother look. Boyh types are equally as strong, both are approximately 1/8" diameter, and both contain approximately 180' per pound.
